Mediterranean flair and multiple offers

Ticino is the most southern Canton in Switzerland. Three quarters of it borders on Italy and Italian is the local language.  This region offers everything the heart desires from mountains and valleys to lakes and rivers and attracts visitors from all over the world every year with its Mediterranean climate and southern flair. The most dense and richest vegetation in all of Switzerland grows here:  camellia, magnolia, and also palm and orange trees, merlot vines and chestnut trees.
On a road network extending over 3,600 kilometres you can experience the breathtaking landscapes either on foot or by cycle. You can go by boat on Lago Maggiore and Lugano lake. Perhaps you would like to visit one of the seventy museums and art galleries, or one of the many Open Air–Events. And take lengthy breaks for tasting the culinary specialities such as the Tessin Risotto, the “Farina bona”, spicy salami, aromatic mountain cheese and full-bodied wines and Grappa.
